Teachers Day Celebration- 02/05/09

This year students initiated the organization and management of Teachers’ Day celebration, which every teacher complimented was the best so far. Teachers were received at the school gate with Khadar by the captains, and then led to the MPH where the rest of the students were waiting with lots of entertaining performances. At the MHP door the principal and two vice principals were given to blast sparkle-filled balloons, and teachers had their own share overhead the well-kept tables. The teachers were thoroughly entertained, in return some teachers volunteered to sing. The day ended with a lunch for teachers!

School performs rimdro on the foundation day as an annual event. This years saw best of its kind. Though about 600 people are involved it just seems like one big family. Lam naten with monks from the Wangdue dzong performed the rimdro, with score of student reciting kanjur tenjur. Hundreds of prayer flags are erected around the mini-stadium where cultural group organized dance and singing programs.

In the football field boys are engaged in Futsal and girls on the other hand are busy with volleyball. Teachers enjoy themselves by joining the students in dancing and singing. The whole school joins for a grand lunch. Everybody receives blessings of good health and spirit from the Lam naten. By the end of the day everyone wishes it to last forever...

School Observed its Sports day today. The day was graced by Dasho Dzongda. On top of the already action packed events, many new activities are added on this year's sports day, including the Caterpillar Race and Takatori. Morning saw Taag House at the top of the table, however by the time we settle down for award ceremony Druk House rules this years Sports Event. The defending Champion Chung House could only bag the third position. View the Sports Day Memories

Annual School Marathon was conducted yesterday. Boys began from Teki Zam and Girls from Chhuzomsa. Fifty two minutes after the they began the race Rinzin Dema touched the finish line for yet another year, breaking the record she set herself last year. Sonam Zangmo finished the not long after the first and then Shabna, with just about a minute in-between.

One hour and two minutes was the new record set for boys by Aiteraj conquering the golden crown for 2009. He was followed by Birkha just a stone throw away and then sukbdr. As they stood on the victory stand we saw yet another program going into school history. View glimpses from Marathon
