Leave Policy for General Staff
Casual Leave
- Teachers and support staff can avail casual leave (CL) for 10 working days during a calendar year.
- The casual leave will be granted for a short period on account of illness or urgent personal affairs.
- The CL will be granted by immediate supervisor (Principal) of the applicant on genuineness.
- Any applicant availing CL will however, seek prior approval in written at least a day in advance for planning and substituting the classes so students are meaningfully engaged. The teacher availing longer leave or attending workshops during the session will also plan students’ activities/lessons that will be carried out by the substitute teacher or the school authority will arrange a substitute to continue the lessons. Casual leave exceeding 5 days at a stretch has to be approved by DEO.
- Any applicant when compelled to extend the leave while on leave will need to inform the school authority and also submit a joining report mentioning the duration of the leave taken and stating the reasons when reporting for duty.
- Casual Leave account will be maintained in respect of each teaching and support staff. Reports will also be submitted to the Dzongkhag Administration for completing the required formalities.
- Casual Leave application reaching office after the person’s departure will not be entertained.(If a person is going out of station).
- Do not sign on your friends behalf if the application is written by you.
- After taking leave, report to the Principal on reporting.
Other Leaves
- The other leaves such as Bereavement, Maternity, Paternity, Medical, Earned and Extraordinary will be also processed provided proper and prior written applications are submitted by the applicants. Other required formalities like submission of medical certificate, child’s birth certificate, etc. will also be required for processing formal approval from concerned authority.
- The leave rules & regulations of the Bhutan Civil Rules and Regulations 2006 will be followed.
