Value Education Policy

  • All the teachers will be responsible for inculcating/imparting Values education and be role models and exhibit good attitude towards life, working ethics, commitment, and carry out responsibilities diligently also maintain good inter personal relationship with superiors, colleagues and the community at large.
  • The teachers entrusted with taking up Values education will prepare the yearly action plan and conduct/organize values related programs accordingly.
  • All teachers will impart Values education integrated with their subjects or even when discharging the responsibilities

SUPW Policy

SUPW (Socially Useful and Productive Work) is one of the major co-curricular activities in the school. The activity will be properly planned by the Coordinator to execute the work effectively.

  • The SUPW Coordinator will allocate the morning cleaning area to all the classes next to their classroom blocks.
  • All the classes will have to work in the morning for 15 minutes every day under the supervision of the class teachers.
  • The Coordinator will pre-plan all Saturdays’ SUPW and inform about the work distribution and the tools to be brought in advance.

Career Education and Counseling Policy

  • Career Education & Counseling Program will be incorporated in the school calendar.
  • The trained teachers will coordinate SBIP on the importance of Career Education & Counseling Program among teacher colleagues to create awareness of the importance of having such programs in the school.

Student Support Policy

  • The Coordinator will develop an action plan for the whole year.
  • The coordinator and members will actively initiate actions and will vigilantly supervise students who require their services.
  • The committee will identify the needy student and help, guide and counsel them whenever the need arises.

Property Management Policy

  • The overall property management will be looked after by the Furniture In charge mainly for the supplies of furniture and equipments received by the school.
  • The Furniture In charge will maintain the stock register for all the furniture received for the school. He/She will also maintain the list of furniture issued and used in the library, laboratories, classrooms, offices, staff rooms, dormitories and staff quarters.  He/ She will also be responsible for issuing out the furniture and then receiving back especially from Dzongkhag Authorities and other agencies.

Discipline Policy

  • Corporal punishment is totally banned in the school as per the directives of the Ministry of Education.
  • The Student Support Committee will consist of the Principal, Vice Principal, Staff Secretary, Class Teacher concerned and the Career Coordinator. The Coordinator of the Student Support Committee will also be a member.
  • Class teachers are responsible and accountable for maintaining and supervising the discipline of their students and are to ensure that the students comply with the school’s rules and regulations

Leave Policy for General Staff

Casual Leave

  • Teachers and support staff can avail casual leave (CL) for 10 working days during a calendar year.
  • The casual leave will be granted for a short period on account of illness or urgent personal affairs.
  • The CL will be granted by immediate supervisor (Principal) of the applicant on genuineness.

School Development Fund Policy

  • The SDF committee will be formed including Principal, Vice Principals, Staff Secretary, 1 school captain (Boy or Girl).  The SDF will be deposited by 15 March each year in the school account of the Bank of Bhutan, Wangdue Branch.
  • The SDF collection will be Nu. 200/- from each student and it will be collected once in the beginning of the academic session as per the guidelines of the Ministry of Education.

  • The school will organize and coordinate cultural activities and competition among the houses and classes.
  • The school’s dance & song troupe for participation in intra Dzongkhag, regional and outside school competitions will be selected during class or house wise competitions.

Games and Sports Policy

  • Games and Sports activities will include disciplines like football, volleyball, basketball, badminton, table tennis, chess, archery, tae-kwon-do, athletic events and other popular traditional games.
  • Equal opportunities to participate in all the games and sports will be rendered to all the students to inculcate mass participation.
  • The school will have a coordinator for each discipline to guide the students and carry out the games and sports.
  • The coordinators will form the Games and Sports Committee and will be headed by the Chief Coordinator. The Chief Coordinator of the Committee will prepare the action plan in accordance with school programs and work out the plan.

School Literary Policy

  • A Coordinator each will be appointed for Dzongkha and English Literary committee. Both will also be the coordinator for the Dzongkha and English Literary Clubs.
  • The Coordinator and committee members will prepare the action plan for conducting the literary activities in line with the school calendar.
  • The Dzongkha and English literary clubs will also be formed mainly to engage students more effectively and meaningfully.

  • The Scouts master will form a school based scout troop with old and new members who are genuinely interested to continue or be a member of scout.  Scouts must be role model to other students and be prepared to follow instructions/work at all times when required.
  • Encourage students for “good turn” daily.
  • The scout members must be active and be prepared to carry out voluntary services both within school and outside.

School Health Policy

  1. The School Health Committee with a Coordinator will be formed in the beginning of the session to carry out any health related activities and programs in the school.
  2. The School Health Committee will nominate the sick captains, a boy and girl students from the boarders and include them as members of the committee.
  3. The Health Committee will draw up the plan of action of the year and work the plan accordingly.

  • 1. The exam committee members will be selected in beginning of the year during the general staff meeting and a Coordinator will also be appointed.

Store Issue Policy

  1. The Store In-charge will issue the text books to the respective class through class teachers.
  2. The Store In-charge will maintain separate formats for the issue of text books to the students endorsed by the concerned class teachers.

  1. The school administration will try to expand the library each year and develop the library with good storage of varied books.  The students/teachers will compulsorily avail the library services and inculcate genuine reading habit for lifelong learning and also to bring about quality education.
  2. The library management team will be dynamic and make the library accessible to all the students and teachers.  The management will develop the rules and regulations for the library and also maintain its decorum.
